#Manta Rays are known to frequently pay visits to what is called ‘Cleaning Stations’.
Cleaning stations are sections of reefs where large fish such as #Sharks, large #BonyFish and #MantaRays get rid of parasites from their bodies with the help of cleaner fish. The cleaner fish eat dead skin, parasites, mucus and bacteria from the bodies of these animals as well as from inside their mouths and their gills while also getting a safe haven from predators. This process is known as a ‘Mutualistic Symbiosis,’ meaning both the small cleaning fish and the larger fish benefit during the process.
#Nature is wonderful, isn’t it? Let’s watch this ‘Mutualistic Symbiosis’ process up close in #Komodo ‘Cleaning Stations’.

‘Taenianotus triacanthus’
The Leaf Scorpionfish, commonly known as the #Paperfish, is a small compressed #ScorpionFish with high variable colour ranges from white, yellow, brown, green and purple to red. Algae and hydroids can grow on its skin, and it has a variable amount of fine appendages that form a "beard" around the mouth. This fish is known to shed its skin periodically.
Even though this unusual-looking fish is a popular subject for underwater photographers, the Leaf Scorpionfish frequently goes unnoticed by divers thanks to its camouflage skill. They are usually found on coral reefs and often hide amongst #corals and #gorgonians.
#Marineanimals in our #oceans are so fascinating, right?

‘Chameleon of the Sea’
This title deserves to be carried by Cuttlefish due to its ability to alter both the colour and texture of its skin in the blink of an eye. Not only for hiding from predators, Cuttlefish even use their ability to hypnotize their prey while hunting. They can rapidly flash an array of waving patterns that move down their bodies, to attract their prey and catch them off-guard.

The most interesting fact is, even though they have a remarkable ability to manipulate their body colour, #Cuttlefish are technically colourblind.
